Get to know our brewer - Neil
Neil was born and raised in the PNW. He began hiking and enjoying the outdoors at a young age. His father, a high school teacher, ran a hiking club
for students. His father included Neil on hikes since before Neil could
walk. As he grew older, his love for the outdoors deepened. In his early
twenties, he started guiding commercial white water rafting trips. That is
how he would learn about craft beer, while guiding a rafting trip down the
Rogue. A four-day trip parted beer from Ninkasi with meals. After this trip
there was no looking back. That fall he bought his first home-brew kit. Neil
began brewing at home, it was the only way he could afford good beer. Neil
began guiding for a new company shortly after in Darrington, Washington. He
was one of the first patrons of River Time Brewing, where he began his
brewing career. Neil continued guiding and working at River Time, while also
completing his college degree. He quickly earned the position of Head Brewer
and Operation Manager at River Time. He spent the next eight years dedicated
to getting River Time up and running. Remlinger came into his life at the
right moment when Neil was ready for the next chapter in his brewing career.
After learning the history and vision of the business, the decision was easy
for him to make the move to Remlinger Farms Brewing. Neil looks forward to more
opportunities to be useful on the Farm. He looks forward to starting a barrel
program for both clean and sour beers. He is also very excited about
Carnation and all the outdoor adventures it offers.
